How often should I go practice to be a good basketball player?

I always was a bad player and I'm now only starting to become an average one. How often should I practice to be a good dribbler, generally get better, and don't let my shooting get rusty? Should it be like 2 times a week? 3 times a week? Every other day? EVERY day? By the way, I'm not asking which ones is best for me, I'm just asking which one is necessary in order to be good at basketball. How often should I go practice to be a good basketball player?
michael jordan practiced 6 hours a day, nuff said...but if you really want to be a good basketball player, i suggest so you practice wit your friends so can learn from them and you might be able to teach them a thing or two as well, its alot easier to improve if your used to having someone to compete with so you can challenge each other and learn from each others mistakes...goodluck!

atleast 3-4 hours of practice a day would be enough to improve your game...
Quite simply - all day, every day. Well, not ALL day, but at least an hour. I used to be a horrible basketball player but got inspired after my Pistons won the title in '04. I played every day for at least 2 hours and got to the point where I could play with just about anyone (not necessarily anyone one-on-one but in a team setting). All you have to do is practice your jumper and it will be surprisingly reliable. I never became GREAT at dribbling; I could still take it to the basket but I'd suggest some sort of dribbling routine without shooting to get really good. It's a great way to get in shape without working out. That said, your legs will take care of themselves but you will still need to build up upper-body strength in the weight room. And if you start slacking even a little you will get rusty so go at it as much as you can. Sorry for such a long answer, but I hope I helped you out.How often should I go practice to be a good basketball player?
Thats an easy questionif you want to be the best you dont only practice day and night you do research and visual practice which is watching the games and copying the pro's moves if you want to be good not best but good 5 times a week

Since im a good basketball player i practiced so hard when i was a kid i would spend in the holidays maybe 3 hours a day (in different proportions)

Just practice, research, practice, research, practice, research
if you want to be good i guess 3 times a week but if u want to be on your high school team, high school teams practice every day, so...but to be good i guess 3 times a weekHow often should I go practice to be a good basketball player?
i have been playing basket ball for 4 years now. my friends got me into it. when i first started my friend beat me in a 1 on 1 game 10 - 1. i was humiliated. i practiced every day 2 - 4 hours even in the rain. (my mom called me crazy). i broke two pair of sneakers (they literally fell apart). A year later i beat my friend 32 - 24.
Every day. Thats what I do and I play high school ball. Work on lay-ups. Running. Condition your self! Cross overs, getting has high has you can (to da rim, not da drug lawl). BUT! Seriously man, don't burn yourself, just keep shooting.
I practice everyday. I don't do drills but i shoot around, dribble around my neighborhood, and play with my friends pretty much everyday for hours.
