How far away is a basketball free throw line for a junior high school team?

I'm thinking of trying out for my school's basketball team. Can you also tell me the basics of basketball?!|||The free throw line is always 15 ft from the line to the backboard|||the free throw line is 15ft away and the 3 point is 20ft.|||Ok Every Court is the same length, the court looks bigger in a college rule court than maybe a mid-school court because of the amount of benched that are placed around the gym just makes it appear bigger. Then It maybe different i noticed from the three point line to the half court line but thats the only difference i have seen. But the freen throw line is always 15 ft aways from the hoop.

There are a lot of basics to basketball. The basics are actually Shooting,Dribbling, Passing. Usually there are a lot more things that fall under this such as shooting you need proper form, and balance, also there are different shots you must teach or do. Under dribbling you have different dribbles, and techniques. The for passing there are many different types of passes, as well as passing to shoot. It goes on and on and on......But if you want to play you better get into good basketball shape to with stand 40 min of continued running. See i;m a highschool athlete if you feel you want to know more about the game go ahead and e-mail me, but another way to figure out the game is read a book. There are a lot of great basketball books out there that has been written by a lot of people with knowledge of the game. Great luck to you have a great season!|||Alrighty, so basketball is played with 5 players from each team on the court. You cannot dribble the ball after you have dribbled and held it. You must pass it or shoot it. You cannot walk with the ball, keep dribbling.

Heres some basic defenitions:

foul shot: if someone from the opposing team touches you while you are in the process of shooting, you will get to shoot a foul shot. You usually get to shoot two shots from the foul line, unless you make the shot. The you only get to shoot one. If you miss it, both teams have a chance to rebound it.

jump ball: one player off of each team stands at half court. The referee will throw the ball up in the air and you have to try to tip it to one of your teammates.

each shot you take that is in front of the three piont line is worth two points.

thats really it.

good luck sweetie on making the team!|||15 feet|||15 ft from the backboard
