Is it weird that NBA people admit to playoff basketball being officiated differently?
It's pretty much accepted and acknowledged by NBA people that playoff basketball is officiated differently than the regular season. My question is, how is that ok? Shouldn't a foul be a foul whether it's preseason or Game 7 of the Finals?|||No idea.|||Wrong section for posting this question aside, the NBA is not the only professional sport where that happens. It happens in the greatest sport of all, the NHL as well. For the most part the officials are content to only call the serious breeches and let the minor stuff go so as to not impede the flow of play at such a critical point in the season. Nobody wants to lose, or win, a championship because of a low level (dumb) penalty.|||The overrated star that the NBA and ESPN are pushing at the moment, Derrick "DeBrick" Rose is only shooting 38% against a 37 win Pacers team. They need to make sure he gets to the line as much as possible so they can inflate his point totals in the hopes the public doesn't realize he's having a terrible post-season|||I agree with Dick, they are the elite of basketball which should be a higher expectation on the players and staff. It's almost like saying a black president will do a worse job than a white president. OH, wait the white president got a hummer! Never mind, sorry, my bad!|||Football is like that too...I am okay with it, becsuse they let the guys play harder without calling fouls for every little thing.|||it is all set up for the ratings that is what they care about. It is probably rigged anyway.|||I'm sorry, but the Political Championship isn't til 2012.
